Bus Stop, Pipalnagar- By RUSKIN BOND

My Review

Bus Stop, Pipalnagar is one of my favourite novellas from the book Unhurried Tales. It is about a young writer who lives in a village called Pipalnagar and about the people associated with him.

The novella describes the innocence and naivety of friendship which is beyond any limits and standards.

Moreover, the novella connects you to these people who have real problems but have no regret. Unlike people living in the city, they care for each other and be for one another when in need.

The simplicity of the story, the merchant boy, rickshaw wala, the tea shop, the barber, the crooked tree, children playing gulli and kabaddi; all of them will keep you fastened till the end of the chapters.

The other novellas from the book are also wonderful to read. Each of them gives an amazing experience.

Few lines from the Novella

“‘What are you dancing for?’ I asked

I’m happy, so I’m dancing’, said Pitamber.

‘And why are you happy?” I asked.

‘Because I’m dancing’, he said.”
